Eligibility

1. Applicants must be Singapore Citizens, or Singapore Permanent Residents, or children of Singapore Citizens,

2. have good overall results in the school Sec 4 preliminary examinations/GCE 'O' :Level Examinations, obtaining at least a B3 in German,

3. be able to meet the admission criteria of National Junior College.
   

How to apply?

Provisional Exercise

Applications opens in October. Students may apply for the LES (German) using their Sec 4 prelimary examinations results. Applications should be submitted to the Ministry through their principals. Those selected for the provisional awards will start their LEP (German) in National Junior College in January the following year. There is no interview for the provisional exercise.

March Exercise

In the March exercise, students who did not apply or were unsuccessful in the provisional exercise may apply for the scholarships. Applications shoud be submitted to the Ministry through their JC principals within 7 working days after the release of the 'O' level results in February/March. Provisional awardees need no re-apply but they will be reassessed along with the fresh applicants. A selection interview will be conducted for both provisional awardees and fresh applicants in March/April.

Terms of Award

Successful applicants will offer German at 'A' Level. There is, however, no restriction on the choice of the remaining subjects for their 'A' level course.

The value of the scholarship is $1,000 a year. Successful applicants are also granted remission of school fees.

There is no bond. :)
